back to the wall

Lambrate railway station, incorporated in the city of Milan in 1923, remains an area with no particular morphological identity. The railway is a boundary between the three areas adjacent to it, which makes the Lambrate neighborhood unable to be integrated into the city. For this reason, the railway yard will be transformed into a new node. In order to do this, the wall that defines the railway yard, which usually functions as a separating element, will be the main connecting element.
The wall will serve as the element which stimulates interaction between the new functions and activities that will take place along the railway yard and the Lambrate neighborhood; serving as the backbone of the area.
